Position Information Position Title Library & Academic Support Services - Student Worker Division Academic Support and Effectiveness Department Library Services Job Description The Library & Tutoring Services Student Assistant shelves, retrieves, and processes library materials.
Greets visitors and provides user assistance at service desk, performing library circulation duties and tutoring reception duties as well as basic computer and printing assistance.
Contacts appropriate staff for technology malfunctions and questions beyond the scope of the position.
Executes data entry and other office tasks as assigned.
May create promotional materials.
Aids users in locating services and spaces throughout Library & Tutoring Services.
Qualifications/Skills Required Attention to detail, punctuality, reliability, ability with numbers and decimals, customer service skills, ability to use computer software including Microsoft applications, communication skills, troubleshooting skills, and ability to multi-task.
Work-study eligible applicants preferred.
Number of Hours Per Week no more than 20, minimum of 4, usually 10-15 Days of Week Physical Demands This position requires reaching, standing, sitting, walking, carrying items, pushing carts, and repetitive motions for the appropriate maintenance of library collections and operations of Library & Tutoring Services.
This position requires activity that may require employee to lift up to 50lbs frequently.
